KEDS participated at the 13th International Shahjiwana International Debating Championship, the biggest parliamentary debating event in Pakistan. Since long I had a feeling that every soul was cursed with the black of sadness that it covered behind its very eyes, yet put on such a jubilant show of sparkle on the outside. When you see a disheveled student, holding BD close to his heart, unconcerned about the world and its matters, (running around in anatomy lawn with an expression so miserable, so frightened) to find a spot to initiate his harmonic pendulum like motion which is called the “tactic of CRAMMING”, you know he is a freshmen and he has his first substage ahead: first substage:feels like this Na, juniors don’t get upset.  This situation is nothing more than normal. So our long-awaited result got announced yesterday, and it's amazing that most of us cleared that veritable terror. First and foremost: Heartiest congratulations to those who made it through. You guys should be proud of yourselves (don't let that get over your heads, though).

King Edward Debating Society participated in the Forman Model United Nations (FORMUN) '15 held at Forman Christian College University Lahore. For the first time in K. What's killing us.... I was having a discussion with a friend, and he brought up the topic of NCDs (non-communicable diseases). We discussed CV disorders, and he seemed pretty intent on finding a way to prevent smoking--which, incidentally, is  the leading cause of CVDs. But hey, here is our problem: haven't we done enough to prevent people from smoking? We have arranged seminars, posted outside building walls (a proud tradition), hosted walks and marathons and tried everything we could to get people to stop picking up the death stick. And we have succeeded too, although only through a minor fraction. Smoking is what we are already focusing on. It's bad, and nearly everyone knows it. But there is a killer more deadly, and more silent than smoking and CVDs, and that is cancer.

Dr Abeera Zafar Tarar (Class of 2013) Its 4 am in the morning. I am sitting in the medical ICU, being the doctor on duty, wrapped up in a shawl to kill the mild chill of early December. My eyes are aching, I have been up for more than 20 hours now. I cant take a nap because one of the four critical patients is extremely serious. My sleepy mind is taking a stroll back to the clothing store I visited this weekend. "Is the pink dress I bought ,better than the one I liked earlier? Ohhh I don’t know. I think the other one was better but it was too expensive. What a pity I had to leave a good dress".
